1. The Terrace at Mark’s Club, Mayfair
Since then, this exquisite Mayfair townhouse has become established as one of London’s foremost members’ clubs.
What is less well known is that the venue is also available to non-members for private functions.
For those seeking a timeless and private setting in one of London’s most celebrated addresses, it is a compelling choice.
The quintessentially British decor and discreet service are well suited to a proposal, and the terrace can accommodate a private drinks reception for up to 35 guests.
Blooming Haus works regularly at Mark’s Club and has arranged proposals here on a number of occasions. The venue suits both an intimate proposal and, should you wish, a celebration with friends immediately afterwards.
We are well placed to create displays that give the setting a personal and considered character.

– The Garden Room — a wood-panelled room with landscape paintings adorning the walls.
– The Indian Room — added in 2015, with lavish decor and a private bar area.
– The Circus Room — a private room with bold jewel-coloured decor and a tent-style ceiling.
2. Painted Hall at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich
The ceiling is spectacular, and the surroundings are opulent.
Among London’s proposal settings, this is one of the most singular.
Designed by Sir James Thornhill early in the 18th century, the hall retains its full splendour — over 200 depictions of historical and mythical figures form the backdrop to the occasion.
For those with a love of history, few settings come close.

The venue can also be considered for the wedding itself, should you wish to return to the same space.

For a more intimate wedding, the Admiral’s House offers the same setting on a smaller scale.
Proposing and marrying within the same historic space is a rare and considered choice.
3. Daphne’s Conservatory, Chelsea

The Conservatory is an ideal choice for a proposal followed by a private celebration — a dining space with a maximum capacity of 32, it accommodates both intimate groups and larger gatherings of family and friends.
A birthday dinner, for instance, can be arranged with a surprise proposal as the centrepiece.
Daphne’s Conservatory works beautifully in any season. The retractable roof creates an open, alfresco quality in spring and summer, while a roaring fire adds warmth in autumn and winter.

One long table suits smaller groups of up to 24; larger parties of up to 32 can be seated at four tables of eight.
Having created floral landscapes at this location across a number of occasions, we are well placed to bring the same depth of detail to your proposal.

4. The Sky Garden, Sky Garden Walk
Set at the top of the Fenchurch Building (The Walkie-Talkie), the space places you and your partner amidst lush gardens with the London skyline laid out below.
It is a remarkable setting, both during the day and as the sun sets.

Packages start at £500, including secluded venue hire, a table set for two with candles, rose petals, and a bottle of Moët & Chandon Champagne.
At the upper end, a premium package at around £8,000 adds a private dining room and a helicopter tour of London.

5. 34 Mayfair, Grosvenor Square
The food is carefully considered, and the surroundings are elegant.
Blooming Haus is often responsible for the restaurant’s interior and exterior installations — the seasonal commissions on the roof have become something of a landmark over the festive period.

For those who prefer to mark the moment with friends, the Emin Room is available for private hire.

A selection of dishes by head chef John Edwards is offered, and live music — such as a saxophonist or string quartet — can be arranged.
The Emin Room seats up to 60 for a lunch or dinner, or 80 standing, making it suitable for both an intimate proposal and a larger celebration.
6. St. Dunstan’s in the East
Ivy-covered walls and ornate Gothic window arches create an enclosure that feels entirely removed from the surrounding streets — a sense of seclusion that is difficult to find elsewhere in Central London.

7. Searcys at the Gherkin, St Mary Axe
Blooming Haus has worked on weddings here — the views across the city are unmatched.

8. Hampstead Heath Pergola, North London
Winding vines and seasonal flowers make for a naturally elegant setting in which to propose, with some overhead cover should the weather require it.

For the most striking colours, a spring proposal — when the flowers begin to bloom — or an autumn visit, with its rusts and golds, both make for a memorable setting at Hampstead Heath Pergola.

9. The Lanesborough, London
Set on Hyde Park Corner, the hotel’s Regency architecture and interior detail create a sense of occasion that is difficult to replicate. The Household Cavalry pass the entrance on ceremonial duty — a detail that guests rarely forget.
For proposals and intimate celebrations, the hotel offers several private rooms, each with its own character:

The St. George’s — a Regency reception room with three Georgian windows looking out over Wellington Arch. High ceilings, chandeliers, period artworks, and an original fireplace create a setting of considerable formality, offset by a carpet with a more contemporary quality.
The Belgravia — one of the hotel’s principal private dining rooms, flooded with natural daylight and dressed throughout in white linen, polished porcelain, and cut crystal. The antiqued Venetian glass panelling reflects candlelight to striking effect in the evenings.
These are two of the more notable options; the hotel’s events team can advise on availability and configuration.
10. Kyoto Garden, Holland Park
The bridge, in particular, offers a beautiful natural backdrop for a proposal.

Spring is particularly well suited — the cherry blossoms in the surrounding park are at their finest and add considerably to the occasion.
