The current Hedsor House was completed in 1868.
It’s the seat of the Shephard family who opened it to public view in 2007 when “The Golden Compass” was filmed at the estate.
The following year the house was transformed into a private events venue that has since developed a reputation as one of the most impressive wedding venues in the country.

3. Wedding Packages at Hedsor House
Looking for flexibility in a luxury wedding package?
You get exactly that with the three wedding packages and dry hire option at Hedsor House.

The opportunity to dry hire the venue means you can simply hire the house and get access to Hedsor House and grounds as well as the Bridal Suite and ten luxury guest rooms.
Access is from 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. the following day.
The cost of this dry hire starts from £5,950 plus VAT Monday - Thursday during the low season in 2023 to £16,700 plus VAT on Saturdays during the high season in 2023.
You can add The Florence Suite and The Green Room to your booking for an additional £500 plus VAT.
Once you’ve secured your booking you need to choose from the venue’s 24 preferred caterers and consider recommended suppliers to create your perfect wedding.
Catering and other services involve an additional cost.
The dry hire option is perfect if you want flexibility or if you require specialist catering.

Darcy Wedding
This package is for a maximum of 70 guests.
It costs from £15,150 + VAT to £21,750 + VAT depending on the date of your wedding and other factors.

- Three-course set wedding menu
- Fizz and wine
- Food for the evening celebration
- PA system
- DJ
- Lighting
- Three-tier wedding cake (choose from five designs)
Augusta Wedding
This package is for a maximum of 70 guests.
It costs from £20,975 + VAT depending on the date of your wedding and other factors.
Features of this package include:
- Exclusive use of the house, grounds, bridal suite, and a further twelve guest bedrooms
- Three-course wedding menu
- Fizz and wine
- Food for the evening celebration
- PA system
- DJ
- Lighting
- Aisle runner
- Bespoke three-tier wedding cake
1776 Wedding
This is the ultimate luxury wedding package at Hedsor House.
It costs from £34,850 + VAT depending on the date of your wedding and other factors.
Features of this package include:
- Exclusive use of the house, grounds, bridal suite, and a further twelve guest bedrooms
- Three-course bespoke wedding menu
- Champagne and wine
- Food for the evening celebration
- PA system
- Lighting
- Aisle runner
- Bespoke five-tier wedding cake
You can add a little extra sparkle to any of these packages by choosing to have reduced noise fireworks on your wedding day.
There’s a £1,600 fee for this facility.
The venue donates £1,000 of this to “The Heart of Bucks” charity.
So, you can do a good deed and add a magic touch to your celebrations.
*Fireworks are not included in this cost and must be hired separately through MLE Pyrotechnics Limited*
Want to include your dog in your wedding celebrations?
That’s no problem at Hedsor House.
The team understands just how important this is to some couples and they offer two options.
The Pawfect Day Package costs £50 + VAT which is perfect if one of your friends can take care of the dog for the day.
Your pooch gets a gift to take home and edible treats during the day.
The Unlimited Love Package costs £450.
You get the services of a trusted local dog handler who is fully qualified and has years of experience.
The package also includes:
- Initial consultation and introduction to your dog (where possible).
- Choice of bespoke accessories for your pooch on the day (bandana, flower crown, flower collar, or bow tie).
- Collection of your dog and transportation to the venue and back from the venue after the event.
- Photography and video coordination.
- Chaperoning of your canine companion.
- Ensuring your pooch reacts calmly during the day.
- Pre and post-wedding walk.
Additional dogs can be added for £50 each and overnight sitting also costs £50.

Ceremonies can be hosted in the beautiful Centre Hall while the ornate Grand Ballroom is the perfect space for a memorable reception.
The maximum guest capacity for ceremonies is 150 and up to 250 people can attend your evening celebrations.
One of our favourite aspects of Hedsor Hall is the approach from the bridal suite to the ceremony.
The descent down the Grand Staircase is witnessed by the guests gathered below.
It’s a truly magical moment.
You also have the opportunity to opt for a wedding at the beautiful 12th century St. Nicholas’ Church.
This medieval church stands just 300 metres from the house and is the perfect complement to the Georgian grandeur of the venue.
