1. The Terrace at Mark's Club, Mayfair

Mark Birley opened Mark’s Club in 1973.

Since then, this exquisite Mayfair townhouse has become well-known as one of London's top members' clubs.

What you might not know is that this location is also available to nonmembers to book for private functions.

So, if you want a timeless, intimate, and private setting in one of London's most celebrated and luxury venues, this is it!

We especially love the quintessentially British decor, unrivalled service, and gorgeous terrace where you can host a private drinks party for up to 35 people.

2. Painted Hall at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich

Walking into the Painted Hall at the Royal Naval College is guaranteed to take the breath away.

The ceiling is spectacular, and the surroundings are opulent.

We guarantee that this is one of the most memorable locations for a proposal in London.

The Painted Hall was designed by Sir James Thornhill early in the 18th century and still retains its splendour.

Your partner can't fail to be impressed when you get down on one knee surrounded by over 200 depictions of various historical and mythical figures.

It's magical 😍.

History mavens are sure to say YES here!

The surroundings of the Royal Naval College are also impressive.

They're the perfect backdrop for a romantic walk and photograph session after your proposal is accepted.

And why not continue your romantic journey by choosing this location for your wedding?
Painted Hall weddings must have a minimum of 100 guests, and the package includes a wedding breakfast and drinks reception.

If you're wedding turns out to be a more intimate affair, you can host it at the Admiral’s House, which has an equal amount of charm.

So, you can propose and marry in the same breathtaking historical space.

What could be more romantic than that ❤?

3. Daphne’s Conservatory, Chelsea

We're big fans of this neighbourhood Italian restaurant in Chelsea and also have the pleasure of working here regularly. The Tuscan vibes are real!
Daphnes have a friendly and welcoming ambience, and the surroundings are beautiful.

If you're planning a proposal and a surprise celebration, Daphne’s Conservatory is the perfect choice of location.

It's a private dining space with a maximum capacity of 32 people, so your family and friends can be there to pop open the champagne after your proposal has been accepted.

Or, why not book a birthday meal for your partner at Daphne's, with a room full of guests, and then bring out the ring as a wonderful surprise?

Daphnes attract a wonderful crowd sure to help pique the senses at your proposal.

Daphne’s Conservatory is an amazing proposal location throughout the year.

The retractable roof creates a bright alfresco vibe in spring and summer, and in autumn and winter, there's a roaring fire to keep everyone warm and cosy.

The Conservatory is also adaptable when it comes to numbers.

There's one long table for smaller groups of up to 24 people.

Larger groups of up to 32 people can sit around four tables of eight.

Whichever arrangement you choose, we've created floral landscapes at this location, so we can bring our skills to your proposal day to elevate it to another level.
Like at the Painted Hall, you can choose to remember your engagement with a wedding at Daphne's.

4. The Sky Garden, Sky Garden Walk

The views from the Sky Garden are iconic and the perfect backdrop to a romantic proposal.

This venue is at the top of the Fenchurch Building (The Walkie-Talkie), and it takes your breath away.

You get to propose to your partner amidst lush green gardens with views across the London landscape.

It's an incredible place for such a special occasion, during the day and as the sun goes down.
If you propose at the Sky Garden, packages are available.

The cost of these packages starts at £500 for features including secluded venue hire, a table set for two with candles, rose petals, and a bottle of Moet & Chandon Champagne.

You can upgrade to a luxury package that costs around £8,000 and includes dinner in a private dining room and a helicopter tour of London.
Whichever package you choose, you can be sure of a special day.

This is one of the most spectacular locations in London, and you and your partner will never forget the romantic moments you experience here.

5. 34 Mayfair, Grosvenor Square

We've shown you some spectacular spaces for a group proposal celebration in London.

But you may prefer a more intimate occasion.

An a la carte meal for two could be a great option at 34 Mayfair, Grosvenor Square!

The food here is high-end, and the surroundings are elegant.

We are often responsible for 34 Mayfair interior and exterior installations.

If you saw the Christmas presents on the roof over the festive period, that was us!

There's also an impressive wine list and a diverse cocktail menu.

So, drinking to your new engagement after the proposal is not an issue.

If you prefer to mark the occasion with friends, you can book the Emin Room for a private event.
This private dining space is located above the restaurant.

As the name suggests, it's home to specially commissioned artwork by Tracey Emin.

This artwork makes it a special space to propose in London.

And that's not all...

You also get a selection of dishes created by head chef John Edwards and music, such as saxophonist or string quartet, can be arranged.

The Emin Room has a maximum capacity of up to 60 people for a seated lunch or 80 people standing.

So, you can see that this location is perfect for an intimate proposal or an event you want to share with family and friends.

6. St. Dunstan's in the East

Searching for a stunning outside space to propose in London? We like to mix it up too!

We'd recommend the ethereal beauty of St. Dunstan's in the East.

There's something really magical about this place.

The ivy-covered walls and ornate window architecture transport you to a world far away from the surrounding buildings and busy streets.
If you're thinking of proposing here, we'd recommend that you avoid weekday lunchtimes unless you want to be joined by hordes of lunching office workers.

A weekend proposal is a good idea as the gardens tend to be less crowded than during the week.

So you have a better chance of proposing and capturing the special moments in images without being disturbed.
You can easily combine a romantic personal proposal at St. Dunstan's in the East with a wider celebration.

Just take a five-minute walk to the Sky Garden afterwards for a pre-booked meal with friends.

7. Searcys at the Gherkin, St Mary Axe

Thinking of a Valentine's Day proposal in London?

Searcys at the Gherkin is a luxurious destination that caters to couples on the most romantic day of the year.

There's even a specially designed menu for the day, but you are advised to book early.

We've done weddings at this venue, and the views are unrivalled.
You have different options if you want to propose at Searcys on Valentine's Day.

You can choose the Afternoon Tea for two with champagne as well as sweet and savoury treats.

You also have the option to book a four-course dinner with rosé champagne as an accompaniment.
Searcys also has limited private dining available where the two of you can enjoy the occasion with no disturbance or celebrate with a group of friends.

The private dining areas are highly sought after, so you must book well.

8. Hampstead Heath Pergola, North London

Lord Leverhulme commissioned Hampstead Heath Pergola simply because he believed the nearby mansion needed a decorative terrace.

It's a frivolous but absolutely gorgeous addition to the landscape.

This is the perfect place to walk hand in hand with your partner as you propose amidst winding vines and colourful flowers.

And there's some cover available, just in case the British weather gets in the way.

One of the best things about the Pergola is that it rarely gets too crowded.

However, choosing a weekday to propose makes you less likely to be amongst many people.

For the most attractive colours at Hampstead Heath Pergola, plan a spring proposal when the flowers begin to bloom or pop the question in autumn with glorious rusts and golds surrounding you.

This is one of London's most exquisite locations for a marriage proposal.

You can also choose to arrange your wedding here if you choose to because it's a fully licensed venue.

Why not make the occasion even more memorable with specially organised candles, florals, or set designs? We would be happy to help.

9. The Lanesborough, London

Another of our favourites we have the pleasure of working at regularly is The Lanesborough!

Host your celebration amidst classic period elegance, mixing in some contemporary party culture.

Enjoy the utterly English style of a vibrant and elegant Regency home where Hyde Park is your front garden, and the Household Cavalry pass by in an honorary salute.

This prestigious location has beautifully appointed venues that are the perfect backdrop for small celebrations, including proposals such as:

The St. George’s - mixes Regency opulence with a hint of glamour. Three original Georgian windows frame views of a much-loved London landmark, Wellington Arch, erected at the same time as the hotel building, in celebration of Britain’s victory in the Napoleonic Wars. High ceilings, chandeliers, period artworks, an original Regency fireplace and a dado featuring beautiful wood marquetry make for majestic surroundings; the carpet finishes the room with a dash of modern panache.

The Belgravia - is one of the finest formal dining rooms in London, where your event will be distinguished by traditions and etiquette in a room flooded with natural daylight. Our highly skilled team will ensure the smoothest experience; there will be streams of white linen, polished porcelain and cut crystal, and the setting will be the height of elegance with candlelight reflecting in the antiqued Venetian glass panelling.

Just to name a few!

10. Kyoto Garden, Holland Park

This small but stunning garden in Holland Park is a colourful and bright space for a marriage proposal.

There's an array of foliage in various shades, as well as a waterfall, a bridge, and Japanese ornamentation.

The bridge is an ideal place to propose against a beautiful natural backdrop.
Image: secretldn.com
The garden was a gift from the city of Kyoto and opened in 1991.

It's a popular area of Holland Park, so planning your proposal for weekdays and avoiding lunchtime is a good idea.

We'd also recommend spring as the best time to propose here so you can take in the lovely cherry blossoms in the park.

Kyoto Garden is perfect if you're looking for an outdoor setting to propose in London.

You might even get a visit from the peacocks to add extra colour to the occasion.
